Train storage shelves.
I guess the picture on the left (along with the matching gallery accessible by clicking on the picture) replaces the proverbial thousand words.
I built these custom shelves because standard workshop shelves are either a bit too narrow or way too wide for 4.75" gauge equipment. I needed a one foot opening at the end to roll the equipment on and off. Most off the shelf shelves (sorry, I could not resist...) have an opening of 10 to 11 inches.
This was a mojor step forward in re-organizing my workshop. By moving the ride on scale trains off the floor and workbench top, I've opened up space to store things like a folding table and my gauge one train boxes.
The next (and hopefuly last) step of the re-organization is to buy or build some narrow shelves to store all the accessories for my Sherline mill and lathe. Right now they are all stacked up on the floor...
