 | The locomotive is 4 3/4" gauge. It has spring suspension, two motors, gear drive and electronic control. |
 | The other side if the locomotive. Soda can for scale. These locomotives are made by Accucraft for Maxitrak. |
 | A nice little detail is the builders plates made from etched brass |
 | The side frame details are actually cast resin parts that are purely cosmetic. There is a metal air tank on the running board. |
 | There is an exhaust muffler on top of the hood. It is made from machined brass. |
 | The nice dual coupler pockets are milled from steel. The Accucraft serial number is stuck in the top pocket. |
 | The radiator is actually a large cast resin piece. The Planet name plate and radiator cap are brass parts. There is a guard in front of the radiator. |
 | There are nice rivet details and grabirions-- the cab and bonnet are bordered by cream colored lining. |
 | There is a battery box detail on one side of the bonnet. |
 | The locomotive has twin air horn details. These are machined from brass. |
 | In the cab is all business. From right to left: gray knob is the throttle, brake switch, reversing switch and horn. |
 | The electronics are mounted behind the control panel. To the left of the circuit board you can make out the horn. It seems like they used a motorcycle horn or something. |
 | The bonnet is secured with four screws. It is removable to access the battery compartment. |
 | The first modification Eric made was to add these black plastic strips that hold the bonnet at the correct height to install the four screws. |
 | Checking how the Planet looks with my newest piece of rolling stock. The oil drums are a 1:6 scale military accessory. They are made from real steel. |
